The IO HVAC CONTROLS LD-2418 is a rectangular 2-position zone damper designed for use in forced-air HVAC zoning systems. Measuring 24 inches by 18 inches, it controls airflow to individual zones by opening or closing on demand from a zone control panel. The integrated 3-wire actuator provides a reliable spring-return or powered-open/powered-close operation depending on system wiring configuration. An onboard LED indicator gives technicians a quick visual status check during commissioning and service calls. At 11 pounds, this is a substantial unit suited for larger trunk or branch duct runs. Licensed HVAC technicians handling zone system installations and service are the primary installers of this damper.
The LD-2418 is intended for residential and light commercial forced-air zoning applications where individual room or area temperature control is required. Its 24-inch by 18-inch rectangular profile fits standard rectangular ductwork of that size. It is appropriate for installation in supply or return trunk duct branches where a dedicated zone requires independent airflow regulation. HVAC contractors installing or retrofitting zoning systems with compatible zone control boards will find this damper suitable for medium-to-large duct openings commonly found in residential and small commercial builds.
Designed as an OEM-style zone damper for use in rectangular-duct forced-air zoning systems controlled by standard 24-volt zone control panels and boards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with forced-air zoning systems and low-voltage control wiring. Power down the air handler and de-energize the zone control panel before making any wiring connections. The damper must be mounted securely within the duct using appropriate sheet metal fasteners and sealed with duct mastic or foil tape to prevent air bypass. Refer to the zone control panel manufacturer wiring diagram for proper 3-wire actuator termination, and verify LED status after restoring power to confirm correct operation.
