The IO HVAC CONTROLS LD-1608-BM is a rectangular two-position zone damper designed for ducted HVAC zoning systems. It accepts a 3-wire actuator with an integrated LED status indicator and mounts via a bottom-mount configuration. The damper controls airflow in a single zone by switching between fully open and fully closed positions, making it a straightforward solution for residential and light commercial zoning applications. The 16-inch by 8-inch duct opening size fits standard rectangular duct runs, and the bottom-mount actuator placement suits installations where top or side access is restricted. Licensed HVAC technicians are the typical installers.
This damper is suited for forced-air zoning systems in residential and light commercial buildings where individual zone temperature control is required. It installs inline within a rectangular duct run and is controlled by a zone control board that sends 24-volt signals over the 3-wire connection. The LED indicator provides a quick visual confirmation of actuator position during commissioning and service calls. Typical applications include multi-zone split systems, heat pump systems, and gas furnace installations where a zone control panel manages multiple dampers across the ductwork.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for rectangular duct zoning systems controlled by a 3-wire zone control board.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the zone control manufacturer's wiring diagram. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the zone control panel before installing or replacing the damper. Secure the damper body to the duct using sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL-listed foil tape or mastic to prevent air leakage. Confirm actuator LED status and full open-to-close travel during system commissioning before returning the system to service.
