The IO HVAC CONTROLS HD-3012-PO is a rectangular two-position zone damper designed for use in forced-air HVAC zoning systems. It operates on a powered-open actuation model, meaning the actuator drives the blade to the open position under power and returns to closed when power is removed. This makes it well suited for fail-closed zoning applications where duct closure on power loss is the preferred safety state. The damper fits a 30-inch by 12-inch duct opening and is installed by HVAC technicians as part of a multi-zone ducted air distribution system. At 12.16 pounds, it is a robust assembly intended for permanent installation in residential or light commercial ductwork.
The HD-3012-PO is used in ducted forced-air systems where individual zones require independent airflow control. Typical installations include residential multi-zone systems with a dedicated zone control board, as well as light commercial applications where supply trunk lines serve separate building zones. The damper is mounted directly in the supply or branch duct and wired back to a zone controller or control panel. It is appropriate for rectangular duct runs requiring a 30-inch by 12-inch damper section.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for rectangular ducted forced-air HVAC systems requiring a 30-inch by 12-inch two-position powered-open damper.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. De-energize the zone control system and disconnect power to the air handler or furnace before beginning damper installation. The damper is mounted inline in the duct and secured per the duct system manufacturer recommendations; wiring to the zone controller should follow NEC low-voltage wiring guidelines. Confirm actuator rotation direction and blade position before restoring power to the system.
