The IO HVAC CONTROLS HD-1614-BM is a two-position rectangular zone damper designed for forced-air HVAC zoning systems. It accepts a 2-wire actuator with bottom-mount configuration, making it suitable for duct installations where top-access is limited. The damper opens and closes fully between two fixed positions, directing conditioned air to or away from a designated zone based on thermostat demand. At 16 inches by 14 inches, it fits standard rectangular duct sections of that size. HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this damper as part of a multi-zone control system, typically alongside a zone control board and multiple thermostats.
This damper is applied in residential and light commercial forced-air systems where independent temperature control is required across multiple zones. It mounts directly into a rectangular duct run and connects to the zone control board via a 2-wire low-voltage circuit. The bottom-mount actuator orientation allows installation in horizontal duct runs where vertical clearance above the duct is restricted. It is commonly installed during new construction zoning projects or retrofits where an existing single-zone system is being converted to multi-zone operation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for rectangular forced-air duct systems requiring two-position control with a bottom-mount 2-wire actuator.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with zoning system wiring and ductwork. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the zone control board before beginning installation. The damper should be secured into the duct section per standard sheet metal practices, with all low-voltage wiring run in accordance with NEC guidelines. Verify actuator orientation and wire termination at the zone board before restoring power.
