The IO HVAC CONTROLS HD-1010-PO is a two-position zone damper designed for use in forced-air zoning systems. It operates on a powered-open actuation model, meaning the actuator drives the blade to the open position when energized and returns to closed when power is removed. This damper fits a 10-inch by 10-inch duct opening and is installed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a multi-zone ducted air distribution system. At 6.16 pounds, it is a solid, install-ready assembly suited for residential and light commercial zoning applications.
Two-position zone dampers are used in forced-air HVAC systems where airflow to individual zones must be controlled independently. The powered-open design is common in systems where the default safe state is closed, allowing the zone controller to open the damper only when that zone calls for heating or cooling. This unit is sized for a 10 x 10 duct and fits into standard rectangular duct runs. It is typically wired to a zone control board using low-voltage control wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for residential and light commercial forced-air ducted HVAC systems using two-position zone control.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power down the air handler and zone control system before wiring or mounting the damper. The damper must be secured to the duct with sheet metal screws and sealed to prevent air bypass. Low-voltage control wiring connections should comply with the zone controller manufacturer wiring diagram and applicable local mechanical codes.
