The IO HVAC CONTROLS D-Z1-1810 is an 18-by-10-inch two-position zone damper assembly designed for use in forced-air HVAC zoning systems. It controls airflow to a single zone by opening or closing in response to a signal from a zone control board or thermostat. The damper is 18 inches wide, 10 inches tall, and 6 inches deep, making it suited for standard rectangular duct applications. At 7.5 pounds, it is a solid, duct-ready assembly that licensed HVAC technicians install during new zoning installations or as a replacement in existing systems.
This damper is intended for residential and light commercial forced-air zoning applications where a single zone requires independent airflow control. It mounts inline in rectangular ductwork and connects to a zone control board that drives the actuator between its two positions - fully open or fully closed. Typical installations include multi-zone split systems, packaged units, and air handler setups where individual room or area control is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation damper for rectangular-duct forced-air zoning systems requiring an 18-by-10-inch two-position zone damper.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power down the air handler or furnace and de-energize the zone control board before beginning work. The damper must be mounted securely in the duct with proper sheet metal screws and sealed to prevent air bypass. Low-voltage wiring between the damper actuator and the zone control board should be run and connected per the control board manufacturer's wiring diagram and applicable local codes.
