The IO HVAC CONTROLS D-Z1-10 is a two-position zone damper assembly designed for single-zone duct control in forced-air HVAC systems. It opens and closes fully to direct conditioned air to or from a designated zone, enabling basic zoning without modulating airflow. The assembly fits 10-inch round or compatible rectangular duct openings and weighs 6.36 pounds. Licensed HVAC technicians and zoning system installers are the primary installers of this type of damper assembly.
This damper assembly is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air applications where a dedicated zone requires on/off airflow control. It is typically installed inline within supply duct runs as part of a zoned HVAC system. The two-position operation makes it appropriate for single-stage or multi-stage air handlers paired with a zone control board. Its 10-inch size fits standard trunk-line branch takeoffs common in residential construction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation damper for two-position zone control applications in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with zoning system wiring and duct modification. Power down the air handler and zone control board before making any electrical connections to the damper actuator. The damper should be installed with proper sheet metal screws and sealed with UL-listed foil tape or mastic to prevent air bypass. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and manufacturer wiring diagrams when connecting low-voltage control leads.
