The IO HVAC CONTROLS CD-2014-BM is a rectangular zone damper built for ducted HVAC zoning systems. It measures 20 inches by 14 inches and ships with a Belimo 3-wire actuator mounted at the bottom of the unit. Zone dampers like this one control airflow to individual zones in a multi-zone forced-air system, opening and closing on demand from a zone control board or thermostat. The 3-wire actuator provides spring-return operation, which defaults to a fail-safe position if power is lost. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers. The unit ships at 10 pounds, reflecting a robust metal construction suited for commercial and residential ducted applications.
The CD-2014-BM is designed for use in Carrier and Bryant rectangular duct zoning systems. The bottom-mount actuator configuration is suited for installations where access to the side of the duct is restricted or where bottom access is preferred during rough-in. It fits horizontal or vertical duct runs where a 20-inch by 14-inch rectangular duct opening is present. Typical applications include residential multi-zone forced-air systems and light commercial VAV-style zoning setups that use a compatible zone control panel and low-voltage thermostat wiring.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction zone damper for Carrier and Bryant rectangular duct zoning systems requiring a 20 inch by 14 inch damper with a bottom-mount Belimo 3-wire actuator.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zoning controls and sheet metal ductwork. De-energize the zone control panel and associated air handler before installing or replacing a zone damper. Verify actuator wiring against the zone control board wiring diagram before restoring power. Follow local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for low-voltage control wiring, throughout the installation.
