The IO HVAC CONTROLS BN-10-SD is a 2-foot by 2-foot auxiliary variable air volume (VAV) diffuser with a 10-inch neck, designed for BACnet-compatible building automation systems. This ceiling-mount diffuser integrates VAV control and air distribution into a single unit, eliminating the need for a separate terminal box in many retrofit and new-construction applications. At 10.4 pounds, the unit fits within standard 24-inch by 24-inch ceiling grid openings and connects to ductwork via its 10-inch neck. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians working on commercial or light commercial interior zoning projects.
The BN-10-SD is suited for interior zones in commercial office spaces, schools, healthcare facilities, and similar occupancies where BACnet MS/TP or BACnet IP communication is already deployed. Its 24.25-inch by 25.625-inch footprint drops directly into a standard suspended ceiling grid. The 12.5-inch height accommodates typical above-ceiling plenum clearances. This diffuser is appropriate for new construction and for retrofitting existing single-duct VAV systems where ceiling aesthetics and communication protocol standardization are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style auxiliary VAV diffuser for use in BACnet-enabled commercial HVAC zoning systems with standard 24-inch by 24-inch ceiling grid configurations and 10-inch round duct connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage BACnet wiring and VAV system commissioning. Power down the air handling unit and de-energize all control circuits before beginning installation or wiring. Ensure above-ceiling plenum clearance is sufficient for the 12.5-inch unit height before mounting. BACnet network addressing and controller configuration should be completed per the system integrator's sequence of operations and applicable ASHRAE or local mechanical code requirements.
