The IO HVAC CONTROLS BAL-2620 is a rectangular electronic balancing damper with an integrated actuator, designed for precise airflow control in ducted HVAC distribution systems. Sized at 26 x 20 inches, it uses an electronically driven actuator to modulate blade position, allowing technicians to balance supply or return air across zones without manual damper adjustments. At 11.336 pounds, the assembly is robust enough for commercial-grade duct installations while remaining manageable for a single-technician install. HVAC controls technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers of this type of equipment.
The BAL-2620 is suited for rectangular duct trunk lines and branch takeoffs in both commercial and light-industrial HVAC systems where zone balancing or variable airflow is required. It is commonly installed in variable air volume (VAV) distribution layouts, multi-zone rooftop unit systems, and air handling unit (AHU) supply networks where static pressure management across zones is critical. The integrated actuator eliminates the need to source a separate actuator and mount it to the damper frame, simplifying the rough-in process.
Designed as an OEM-style electronic balancing damper for rectangular ducted HVAC distribution systems requiring motorized airflow control.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal contractor in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and applicable local mechanical codes. De-energize the air handling unit and confirm zero airflow before securing the damper assembly into the duct section. Verify that low-voltage control wiring to the actuator is run and connected per the manufacturer wiring diagram and complies with NEC Class 2 circuit requirements. Do not apply power to the actuator until all duct connections are sealed and the unit is ready for commissioning.
