The INTERTAPE 99712 is a silver aluminum foil tape engineered for HVAC sealing, seaming, and related trade applications. It carries a 6.5 mil total thickness and uses an acrylic adhesive system that bonds reliably across a wide operating temperature range of -25 to 350 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold service environments. The tape delivers 40 pounds per inch tensile strength, giving technicians a durable, tear-resistant wrap that holds under mechanical stress. At 2-61/64 inches wide and 50 meters per roll, it covers standard duct joints and insulation seams without excessive overlap or waste. HVAC mechanics and insulation installers are the primary users of this product.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC ductwork installations and repairs. Typical applications include sealing duct joints, seaming duct board insulation, and wrapping vapor barriers. The acrylic adhesive maintains its bond across the full operating temperature range, which covers most forced-air heating and cooling system environments. It is also used for general sealing tasks where a metal foil facing is required to resist moisture, air infiltration, and moderate heat. The FSK1 series designation identifies it within the manufacturer product line.
Designed for HVAC sealing and seaming applications, including duct joint sealing, duct board insulation seaming, and general foil tape uses where an acrylic adhesive and aluminum foil construction are specified.
HVAC technicians and insulation installers should apply this tape to clean, dry, and dust-free surfaces for maximum adhesion. Surface temperatures should be within the tape operating range at time of application. No cutting tools beyond a standard utility knife or tape dispenser are required. Follow local mechanical codes, including SMACNA duct construction standards, when sealing duct systems.
