The INTERTAPE 87201 is a general-purpose paper masking tape built for tradespeople and industrial users who need reliable adhesion across a range of jobsite tasks. The tape measures 2 inches wide and 60 yards long, with a 5 mil thickness that holds up under typical masking, bundling, and sealing conditions. A rubber-based adhesive provides firm tack on most surfaces while allowing clean removal. Tensile strength is rated at 19 lb per inch, giving the tape enough backbone to resist tearing during application. The tan paper backing is easy to tear by hand and write on when labeling is needed.
This tape is suited for paint masking, box closing, bundling, sealing, seaming, splicing, and tabbing applications in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. It carries a series designation of 513 and meets ASTM D-6123 standards. A noted specialty application is wrapping golf club shafts, where consistent tension and clean layering are required. The 48 mm width and rubber adhesive make it a practical choice for both light-duty and moderate-duty jobsite use.
Designed as a general-purpose masking tape for use across paint masking, packaging, bundling, and light industrial applications where a tan paper tape with rubber adhesive is specified.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces for best adhesion. In paint masking applications, press edges firmly to prevent paint bleed. Remove tape promptly after painting while the paint film is still slightly soft to reduce the risk of tearing or leaving adhesive residue. No special tools are required — the tape is hand-tearable.
