The INTERNAL TOOL 69-1105-C is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features an 11-degree taper angle per side, a 1/16-inch small end diameter, and a 3-flute helical geometry. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating delivers elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. The 1/4-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring tight-tolerance tapered profiles. Machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary users of this end mill.
This tapered end mill is applied in mold-making, die work, and precision part machining where a tapered wall profile is required. With a 0.5-inch length of cut and a 15-degree helix angle, it handles slotting and profiling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super alloys, and titanium. It is not center-cutting, so it requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point before plunging. Typical applications include engraving lead-ins, draft-angle milling, and tapered cavity work on CNC equipment.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4-inch straight shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (super alloys and titanium) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and collet systems. Secure the 1/4-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Because this tool is not center-cutting, always establish an entry point with a center-cutting tool before engaging the tapered end mill. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and depth of cut.
