The INTERNAL TOOL 68-1705-C is a double-end corner rounding end mill designed for precision edge profiling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN, it handles demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys including titanium. The 2-flute geometry with straight flutes and right-hand cutting direction provides clean edge blending at a 0.25-inch corner radius. Overall length is 3.5 inches with a 0.625-inch cylindrical shank. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
The 68-1705-C is suited for edge-rounding and radius milling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The double-end configuration extends tool life by offering two usable cutting ends. Typical applications include radius blending on milled pockets, profile edges, and transition geometry on both manual mills and CNC machining centers. The AlTiN coating supports higher-temperature cutting environments, making it appropriate for dry or semi-dry machining of harder alloys and stainless grades.
Designed for use on manual milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.625-inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys with titanium, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated before tool changes. Secure the cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
