The INTERNAL TOOL 68-1635-C is a double-end corner rounding end mill designed for precision edge profiling on a wide range of metallic workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The tool features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius, a 5/16 inch mill diameter, and a 2.5 inch overall length. With two straight flutes and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it produces consistent, repeatable radius profiles. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for edge finishing and deburring operations where tight radius tolerances are required.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, super alloys, and titanium. Its AlTiN coating makes it particularly effective in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions where heat generation is a concern. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changeovers. It fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 5/16 inch collet or end mill holder. Typical applications include rounding sharp edges on machined components, blending transitions between faces, and producing decorative or functional radius breaks on precision parts.
Designed for use in standard CNC or manual milling setups accepting a 5/16 inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous metal), and S (super alloys and titanium).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and sized correctly for the 5/16 inch shank before tightening to the manufacturer's specified torque for that holder type. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, especially when working with hard alloys or super alloys.
