The INTERNAL TOOL 68-1600-C is a double-end, solid carbide corner rounding end mill designed to produce precise radius profiles on a wide range of workpiece materials. It carries a 1/16-inch (0.0625-inch) corner radius and a 3/16-inch (0.1875-inch) mill diameter, making it well suited for small-feature edge work where tight tolerances are required. The tool features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. With two straight flutes and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it is a standard choice for machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills and manual milling machines.
This end mill is intended for edge-rounding and radius-milling operations across a broad spectrum of materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys and titanium. The double-end configuration provides a second usable cutting end, extending service life per tool. It is appropriate for both production floor and job-shop environments where consistent corner geometry is required on precision components. The 2-inch overall length and 3/16-inch cylindrical shank are suited to standard collet and end mill holders found on most vertical milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for use in milling operations requiring a 3/16-inch diameter corner rounding end mill with a 1/16-inch radius and 3/16-inch cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece material codes include P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous metal), and S (super alloys and titanium).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures for carbide end mills. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply flood or mist coolant at the cutting zone as needed per shop practice.
