The INTERNAL TOOL 62-1445 is a single-flute solid carbide engraving cutter designed for precision material removal on a wide range of metals and engineered plastics. The cutter features a tipped-off point with a 60-degree included angle and a 0.25-inch cutter diameter, making it well suited for fine engraving passes where edge detail and dimensional accuracy matter. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance required when cutting harder workpiece materials. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.25-inch shank, it fits standard collet holders used in CNC machining centers and manual engraving machines.
This cutter is intended for use across a broad spectrum of materials including aluminum, plastic, magnesium, copper, cast iron, steel, titanium, stainless steel, nickel, Monel, Inconel, Waspaloy, and Hastelloy. It is a practical choice for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where one cutter must handle multiple material types. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional spindle rotation on standard CNC and manual machines. The natural finish leaves the carbide substrate uncoated, which is appropriate for applications where coating buildup on fine tip geometry could affect engraving accuracy.
Designed as an OEM-style engraving cutter compatible with CNC machining centers, engraving machines, and manual mills that accept a 0.25-inch round shank in a standard collet or end mill holder with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before installing or removing the cutter from the collet holder. Ensure the collet bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and torque the collet nut per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tip diameter visually before use, as the 0.015-inch tip is fragile and susceptible to chipping if mishandled or improperly stored.
