The INTERNAL TOOL 41-5008-C is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials without significant edge degradation. The 0.5-inch mill diameter is matched by a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank, and the 4-inch length of cut gives machinists substantial reach for deep-pocket and long-engagement operations. This tool is installed and run by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it practical for slot milling, contour milling, and ramping operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across the listed workpiece material range. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than reversed when one end wears.
Designed for use with standard 0.5-inch ER, Weldon, or hydraulic end-mill holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Confirmed compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials per manufacturer attribute data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician following the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for tool runout and clamping torque. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended grip length to minimize overhang and vibration. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters; consult published speeds-and-feeds data for the specific workpiece material and coating type.
