The INTERNAL TOOL 41-0944 is a solid carbide, 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a mill diameter of 0.0940 inches (3/32 inch) and a 1/8-inch straight shank, this tool delivers tight tolerances on small-diameter cuts. The length of cut reaches 0.750 inches with an overall length of 2.5 inches. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, it is built for rigidity and wear resistance in high-tolerance work. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a wide range of primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Its right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction, combined with a 30-degree helix angle, support efficient chip evacuation across these material types. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as standard peripheral milling. It is a single-end configuration with regular length, making it appropriate for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and contouring on small-scale features.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch straight shank collet. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials per workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut according to the machine manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to collet concentricity.
