The INTERNAL TOOL 170-1300 is a solid carbide corner rounding end mill engineered for precision edge-profiling on metal workpieces. It cuts a 1/4-inch (0.250-inch) corner radius on a 5/8-inch (0.625-inch) mill diameter, with a matching 5/8-inch cylindrical shank for secure chuck retention. The three-flute, straight-flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction deliver clean, consistent radii in a single-end configuration. At 6 inches overall length, it offers reach suitable for most standard milling setups. The uncoated bright finish makes this tool a straightforward choice for shops that prefer to apply their own coatings or work with materials where coating adhesion is a secondary concern. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shop or production environments will find this tool fits standard CNC and manual milling applications.
This corner rounding end mill is suited for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys including titanium. Its solid carbide construction handles the hardness and abrasion demands of these materials while maintaining dimensional accuracy on the corner profile. It is a single-end tool, meaning the cutting geometry is located at one end only. Typical applications include edge-breaking on machined components, rounding sharp corners for ergonomic or fit-and-assembly requirements, and producing consistent radii on production runs where a milling operation replaces manual deburring or filing.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys and titanium. Fits any milling machine or CNC machining center equipped with a collet or end mill holder accepting a 5/8-inch cylindrical shank. Part of the INTERNAL TOOL Series 170 corner rounding end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom operator. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state. Clean the shank and collet bore before seating the tool to ensure runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Do not exceed the machine spindle's rated RPM or the tool manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
