The INTERNAL TOOL 170-1220 is a solid carbide corner rounding end mill designed to machine precise convex radii on workpiece edges. With a 1/8-inch (0.1250-inch) corner radius and a 3/8-inch mill diameter, it generates smooth, consistent radii on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys including titanium. The 3-flute, single-end geometry runs in a right-hand cutting direction with straight flutes and a 0-degree helix angle. Overall length is 4 inches with a cylindrical 3/8-inch shank. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for edge-finishing and profile work.
This end mill is suited for edge-rounding operations on ferrous and non-ferrous components in production and job-shop environments. Typical applications include deburring sharp corners on steel and stainless steel parts, finishing cast iron surfaces, and profiling non-ferrous and titanium aerospace or industrial components. The uncoated bright finish makes it easy to inspect for wear. A tip diameter of 0.1150 inch and a 0-degree helix angle provide stable, predictable contact during radial cutting passes.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super alloys including titanium. Fits standard 3/8-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in a safe state before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder that matches the 3/8-inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout after installation before beginning a cutting operation.
