The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 6241365 is a CNMG-style solid carbide turning insert designed for metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Coated with a three-layer CVD stack of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN under manufacturer grade TT8115B, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability during steel turning operations. The diamond-shaped insert body carries a negative rake geometry with a 0-degree relief angle and an 80-degree included angle, making it well suited for medium to heavy interrupted and continuous cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index these inserts as part of routine tool maintenance on production turning equipment.
This insert is intended for primary use on steel workpieces and fits standard CNMG toolholders that accept a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. The PC chip breaker geometry helps manage chip flow in medium-depth turning passes with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1250 inches. It is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on steel components in job shop, production machining, and maintenance repair environments. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a wide range of right-hand and left-hand toolholder configurations.
Designed for use in standard CNMG toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch (0.3750-inch) inscribed circle insert. ANSI code CNMG331PCTT8115B and ISO code CNMG090404PC TT8115B can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder specifications.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle stopped and all motion axes at rest. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert; under- or over-torquing the clamp screw can cause premature edge failure or insert fracture. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Follow the machine shop safety program and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements during any tooling change.
