The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 6125299 is a replaceable drill tip designed for indexable drilling systems that use a separate tip-and-body arrangement. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers hard-wearing performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 21.00 mm cutting diameter, a 90-degree drill point angle, and a straight flute design. The IN2505 grade is engineered to handle steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management in deep-hole drilling applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this style of insert tip.
This replaceable drill tip is suited for flat-bottom drilling, coolant-through drilling, and general drilling operations on CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with compatible TPF-series bodies. Seat size 21 is required for proper seating and clamping. Material grade coverage spans ISO classifications P, M, K, N, S, and H, making this tip applicable across production environments that run varied workpiece materials in a single setup. It conforms to ANSI standards and carries the ISO number TPF2100R01 IN2505.
Designed for use with TPF-series indexable drill bodies requiring an insert seat size 21. ISO designation TPF2100R01 IN2505 identifies the correct body pairing. Verify seat size and series compatibility with the tool body before installation.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing the drill tip. Use the appropriate clamp torque tool as specified by the tool body manufacturer - do not overtighten or undertighten the clamping screw, as improper seating affects runout and tip retention. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the replacement tip.
