The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 6050191 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to TIMC insert style specifications, it carries the TT8020 manufacturer grade with a PVD coating process for improved wear resistance and edge retention. The insert features a 3.10 mm (0.1220 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.20 mm corner radius. It is a single-end insert held in place by a clamp-style toolholder. Machinists and tooling technicians working on high-volume turning applications will find this insert suited to demanding material removal tasks.
This insert is intended for use in grooving and parting applications across residential and industrial machining environments. Its primary workpiece material designation covers superalloys as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, corresponding to material codes M, P, and S. The TT8020 grade is matched to material grades C1 through C6, making it a versatile choice across a range of workpiece hardnesses. The TIMC series insert seat size is 4, and the insert is compatible with clamp-style toolholders designed for TIMC geometry inserts.
Designed for use with clamp-style TIMC series toolholders accepting insert seat size 4. Suitable for grooving and parting operations on workpiece materials classified under material codes M, P, and S, covering superalloys, steel, and non-ferrous metals. Compatible with material grades C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Before seating the insert, power down the machine and follow lockout/tagout procedures per applicable safety standards. Seat the insert fully in the clamp-style pocket and confirm the clamp torque is within the toolholder manufacturer's specified range before beginning a cut. Inspect the insert edge and corner radius condition at each tool change interval to prevent workpiece damage from a worn cutting edge.
