The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5813436 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding milling applications. Built to the WNGU130608R IN2540 ANSI and ISO designations, this trigon-shaped insert carries a negative rake geometry with an 80-degree included angle and six usable cutting edges on a double-sided body. The PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. With a 0.514-inch inscribed circle and a 0.265-inch thickness, it fits securely in compatible cutter bodies and is held in place by a screw-type clamping method. Installers and tooling technicians working in production machining environments select this insert for steel and cast iron applications.
This insert is intended for milling steel and cast iron workpieces, covering material grades classified as fine grain and medium grain. It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes where corner radius control matters, featuring a 1/32-inch (0.031-inch) corner radius with a rounded cutting edge style. The WNGU series geometry and right-hand orientation make it appropriate for standard production milling setups in CNC machining environments. It is cataloged under ANSI and ISO standards, making it straightforward to cross-reference in tooling systems.
Compatible with cutter series 1DJ1P and DJ5P. Designed as a direct replacement or standard tooling insert for WNGU-style cutter bodies accepting insert size code 130608 with a right-hand configuration.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified tooling technician or machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can affect runout and edge life. Verify insert orientation and hand designation before securing to avoid premature edge failure.
