The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5813382 is a solid carbide milling insert in the AOMT series, designed for use in indexable milling cutters on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Carrying grade IN2530 with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating, this insert delivers heat and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting cycles. The parallelogram insert shape with a positive rake geometry promotes free cutting action and reduced cutting forces. It features two cutting edges, a sharp cutting edge style, and a 0.2500-inch corner radius. Installation is by screw clamping, and the insert is single-sided with right-hand orientation.
This insert is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium - workpiece material codes P, M, and S under ISO classification. It is well suited to roughing and semi-finishing operations where tool life and edge stability under interrupted or continuous cuts are priorities. The coarse grain carbide substrate supports toughness in these demanding material groups. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.5950 inches, making it appropriate for productive material removal rates in production and job-shop environments alike. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing will find this insert applicable across a range of fixturing setups.
Compatible with the following cutter series: 12J1G, 12L1G, 22J3G, 22J5G, 2J1G, and 2L1G. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code AOMT170564R IN2530.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing any indexable insert. Use the correct torque driver per the toolholder manufacturer specification for the clamping screw - do not use impact tools. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw threads for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
