The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5616092 is a solid carbide milling insert in the UNLU series, designed for indexable face and shoulder milling operations in metalworking applications. This double-sided insert carries the manufacturer grade IN2530 and features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating over a coarse grain carbide substrate. It has four cutting edges, a right-hand orientation, a negative rake geometry, and chamfered cutting edge style. The insert measures 0.469 inches in length, 0.361 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.189 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.047 inches. It is held in place by a screw-clamp method and is suited for high-productivity milling in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is intended for use in professional machining environments, including job shops, production floors, and aerospace or energy component manufacturing where difficult materials such as superalloys and titanium are common. The IN2530 grade is formulated for steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, making it a versatile choice across a wide range of milling applications. It is compatible with the 1TG1G, TG1G, TG2G, TG3G, and TG4G cutter series from Ingersoll. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC tooling professionals when indexing or replacing worn inserts in milling tool bodies.
Compatible with Ingersoll cutter series 1TG1G, TG1G, TG2G, TG3G, and TG4G. Designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces per primary workpiece material codes P, M, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamp screw to the tool body seat; consult the cutter body documentation for correct seating and torque procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
