The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5519350 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNGG series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Grade K10 uncoated carbide delivers consistent performance in applications where coating buildup or thermal sensitivity is a concern. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a negative rake geometry, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0040-inch corner radius. Four cutting edges are available per insert, making it an economical choice for production turning environments. The ML chip breaker geometry supports light to medium cutting conditions. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production settings.
This insert is suited for turning cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The K10 grade and uncoated bright finish make it particularly effective where workpiece adhesion to coated grades is problematic, such as with certain non-ferrous and titanium alloys. It is mounted using a clamp-style insert holding method and is positioned in toolholders compatible with CNGG-series inserts. The ML chip breaker is optimized for lighter depths of cut and finishing or semi-finishing passes on the listed workpiece materials.
Designed for use in CNGG-series clamp-style toolholders. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals as identified by ISO material codes K, N, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are free of chips and debris before mounting. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications and verify insert seating before resuming cuts.
