The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5151058 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under the designation SHLT110408N-PH1 IN1030, this insert features a square shape with a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake geometry. The TiCN coating is applied via PVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability. With four cutting edges and a corner radius of 0.031 inches, it delivers consistent edge performance across its full usable life. It is held in place by a screw-type clamping method and is classified as a single-sided insert with a 90-degree included angle.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and finishing passes. The PH1 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation when cutting these demanding materials. It is compatible with Q, QA, and QF cutter series tool bodies. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations in industrial machining environments. Installation and tool setup is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians working with CNC or manual milling equipment.
Compatible with Q, QA, and QF cutter series tool bodies as specified by INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS. Designed for use in milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials (material codes P, M, and S).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine spindle per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the tool body seat, ensuring the insert is fully seated against all locating surfaces. Inspect the pocket and screw threads for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
