The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5120146 is a replaceable drill tip engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in production drilling applications. It carries manufacturer grade IN2505 and material grade M15/M35, making it well-suited for stainless steel and similar difficult-to-machine alloys. The 140-degree point angle reduces entry forces and improves centering accuracy. Coolant-through capability channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation in deep-hole operations. Machinists and CNC operators in metalworking and manufacturing environments install this tip as part of the TMA modular drill system.
This replaceable drill tip is designed for use in the TMA series modular drill body system. It fits applications involving stainless steel workpieces and is appropriate for coolant-through drilling, spot drilling, and standard through-hole drilling operations. The 14.00 mm cutting diameter and 14.5 insert seat size match TMA-series holders configured for that seat dimension. It is used in CNC machining centers in both job-shop and production environments where consistent hole quality and repeatable tip replacement are priorities.
Designed as a replaceable tip for TMA-series modular drill bodies requiring a 14.5 insert seat size. ISO designation TMA1450R01 IN2505 can be used to verify holder compatibility. Intended for primary workpiece material code M, covering stainless steel and similar ISO M-class alloys.
Replaceable drill tips of this type are installed and serviced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is removed or secured before tip replacement. The clamp holding method requires proper seating of the tip in the holder before torquing the clamping screw - refer to the TMA holder documentation for correct procedure. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and unobstructed before returning the assembly to service.
