The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5120090 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with compatible indexable drill bodies in metal-cutting operations. Manufactured from solid carbide with a micro grain substrate, this insert delivers the edge retention and wear resistance required for demanding drilling applications. The tip features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating, which reduces heat buildup and extends tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. At a 19mm cutting diameter and a 140-degree point angle, it suits both general-purpose and precision drilling tasks. Installation is handled by twist-locking into the drill body seat, making changeovers fast at the machine.
This tip is built for production and job-shop drilling environments where a two-flute indexable drill system is in service. It falls within the TPA series and fits an insert seat size of 19, identified by ISO number TPA1900R01. The universal material grade designation covers primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, and H, making it applicable across steels, stainless steels, cast irons, superalloys, and hardened materials. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting both external and internal coolant delivery setups common in CNC machining centers and turret lathes.
Designed to fit TPA series indexable drill bodies with a 19mm insert seat size, identified by ISO designation TPA1900R01. Consult the INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS TPA series documentation to confirm body compatibility before ordering.
This tip is installed and removed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the appropriate torx or wrench key supplied with the drill body system. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing the insert. Ensure the insert seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the new tip, as contamination affects runout and tip life. Follow the drill body manufacturer's clamping procedure for the twist-lock mechanism to ensure proper seating.
