The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5120008 is a replaceable drill tip designed for modular indexable drilling systems. Built from solid carbide and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN coating, this tip delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding metal-cutting operations. It carries an 11.00 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a standard point type with a regular helical spiral flute configuration. The tip features through-coolant capability, directing cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge to manage heat and chip evacuation. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and machining trade professionals handling precision drilling applications will recognize the IN2505 carbide grade as suited for steel workpieces at material grades P15 through P30.
This tip is intended for use in steel drilling applications, including through-hole drilling and spot drilling, where controlled cutting geometry and consistent tool life are required. It seats into a size 10.5 insert seat and mounts via clamp-style holding. The TPA series design targets production drilling in steel components across job shop and manufacturing environments. With two helical flutes and coolant-through support, it handles chip evacuation in deeper cuts where heat buildup is a concern. The 5120008 conforms to ANSI standards and is classified under UNSPSC code 23242105.
Designed for use in TPA-series modular indexable drill bodies accepting a size 10.5 insert seat, conforming to ANSI standards. ISO designation for this tip is TPA1080R01 IN2505.
Installation and indexing of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully de-energized and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the drill body manufacturer - do not improvise clamping. Verify seat cleanliness and tip seating before resuming operation. Inspect the tip and seat for wear or damage at each tool change interval.
