The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5101260 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use in modular indexable drill systems. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, this tip delivers hardness and wear resistance in demanding metal-cutting operations. It features a 140-degree point angle, a standard point type, and a helical flute configuration with a regular spiral. The 22.00 mm cutting diameter and 2-flute design are suited for productive chip evacuation in steel and similar ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and users of this tip.
This replaceable drill tip is intended for use in TPA-series modular drill bodies that accept an insert seat size 22. It is applied in production drilling, spot drilling, and coolant-through drilling operations, primarily on steel workpieces classified under material grade P (P15 to P30). Typical use cases include CNC machining centers and programmed drilling cycles where consistent hole quality and tip replaceability reduce downtime. The coolant-through design supports chip flushing and thermal management at the cutting zone during extended drilling runs.
Designed for use with TPA-series modular drill bodies requiring insert seat size 22. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P, grades P15 to P30). Compatible with coolant-through spindle setups on CNC drilling and machining centers.
Replaceable drill tips of this type are seated and clamped by a machinist or toolroom technician following the drill body manufacturer's clamping torque procedure. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tip. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before installation, as a contaminated or worn seat will affect runout and hole quality. Coolant-through connections should be verified for proper flow before returning the tool to production.
