The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5101250 is a replaceable drill tip engineered for indexable drilling systems in metal-cutting applications. This solid carbide insert carries the ISO designation TPA2100R01 IN2505 and features a 21.00 mm cutting diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle. The PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN dual coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed steel cutting. Coolant-through design channels fluid directly to the cutting edge, controlling heat and evacuating chips efficiently. The tip mounts via clamp into a compatible TPA-series drill body using insert seat size 21, making replacement fast without removing the tool body from the spindle.
This replaceable drill tip is designed primarily for drilling and spot drilling in steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material group P (grade P15 to P30). It fits TPA-series indexable drill bodies used in CNC machining centers, turning centers with live tooling, and dedicated drilling machines in job shop and production environments. The helical flute geometry and regular spiral promote stable chip flow in through-hole and blind-hole applications. Machinists and tooling specialists working in ferrous-metal production will find this tip suited for moderate to aggressive cutting parameters in structural and alloy steels.
Designed for use with TPA-series indexable drill bodies accepting insert seat size 21. Compatible with drill bodies configured for coolant-through delivery. Verify seat size and body series before ordering to confirm fitment.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before handling or replacing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the drill body manufacturer - do not overtighten, as carbide tips are brittle. Confirm coolant ports are clear and flow is active before resuming cutting operations.
