The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5101087 is a modular reamer head designed for precision hole finishing in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN), this head delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. It features a 0.750-inch head diameter, a 0.417-inch head length, six straight flutes, and a right-hand cutting direction. The h7 hole tolerance rating makes it suitable for close-tolerance bore work where dimensional accuracy is critical. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this component.
The 5101087 modular reamer head is intended for use with the XT7 modular reamer system. It is suited for finishing holes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. Typical applications include production machining environments where repeatable, tight-tolerance bore diameters are required across multiple workpiece materials. The straight flute geometry is well-matched to through-holes and materials that produce short, manageable chips.
Designed for use with the XT7 modular reamer system. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium (ISO material groups P, M, K, and S).
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with modular tooling systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly torqued to the XT7 shank per the system manufacturer's assembly instructions before running. Inspect the reamer head seating surface and mating shank interface for chips or debris prior to assembly, as contamination will affect runout and bore accuracy. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during tool changes.
