The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5100951 is a replaceable drill tip designed for modular drilling systems requiring precise, repeatable hole entry in steel workpieces. This solid carbide insert carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process and is manufactured to grade IN2005, a designation optimized for P15 to P30 steel cutting applications. The tip features a 140-degree point angle, a standard point type, and a helical flute geometry with a regular spiral. It is held in place by a clamp-style insert holding method and fits insert seat size 21. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC drilling operators are the primary installers of this component.
This drill tip is configured for spot drilling operations on steel in machining environments where tool-tip replacement is preferred over full drill replacement. The YAB series tip is suited for CNC machining centers and modular drill bodies that accept seat size 21 inserts. With a cutting diameter of 21.00 mm, a flute length of 6.00 mm, and a functional length of 0.2200 inches, it is sized for moderate-depth entry cuts in ferrous workpiece materials classified under ISO material group P. The two-flute helical design promotes chip evacuation during drilling cycles. This tip does not include coolant-through capability.
Designed for use in modular drill bodies that accept YAB series replaceable tips with insert seat size 21. Intended for ISO P15 to P30 steel workpiece materials as an OEM-style replaceable cutting tip.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing any replaceable drill tip. Use the correct clamping tool or torque key specified by the drill body manufacturer to seat the tip securely against the insert pocket. Inspect the seat for debris or damage before installation to ensure proper tip alignment and runout.
