The IMPORT BDNA-20794 is a straight flute bottoming tap designed for cutting internal right-hand threads in 3/4-16 UNF applications. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a gold oxide coating, this tap provides improved lubricity and corrosion resistance during threading operations. The bottoming chamfer style allows threading to the bottom of blind holes where plug or taper taps cannot reach. With 4 flutes and an H3 thread limit, it is suited for threading ferrous and non-ferrous materials in precision machining, maintenance, and fabrication work. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this tap.
This tap is used in applications requiring unified fine thread profiles in 3/4-16 UNF configurations. Bottoming taps are typically the final tap used in a three-tap sequence when a threaded hole must be fully formed to the base of a blind bore. Common install scenarios include manufacturing fixtures, equipment repair, and fluid system fittings where fine-thread engagement and tight tolerances are required. This tap is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style threading tool for use in any application requiring a 3/4-16 UNF right-hand internal thread.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance mechanics using a tap wrench or tapping machine. Always ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the tap is aligned perpendicular to the hole before starting. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to reduce heat and extend tool life. Power down any machine tool and follow lockout/tagout procedures before hand-tapping in powered equipment.
