The IMPORT BDNA-20692 is a 3-piece tap set designed for cutting 3/4-10 UNC internal threads in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The set includes three tap styles — bottoming, plug, and taper — allowing the user to progress through thread initiation, intermediate cutting, and full thread depth in a single coordinated set. All three taps are ground from high-speed steel (HSS) and coated with a gold oxide finish that provides light lubricity and corrosion resistance during storage and use. Each tap features 4 flutes and carries an H3 thread limit, indicating a tight tolerance ground thread suitable for precision threading applications. Overall length is 4.25 inches. This set is appropriate for machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who perform field or shop threading tasks.
This tap set is suited for general-purpose threading in machine repair, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance environments. The 3/4-10 UNC coarse thread form is one of the most common fastener thread profiles used in structural and industrial applications, making this set a practical shop-floor tool for threading through-holes and blind holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The three-tap progression is especially useful for blind-hole applications where a bottoming tap is required to cut threads to full depth near the base of the hole.
Designed for cutting 3/4-10 UNC threads and compatible with standard tap handles, T-handle tap wrenches, and machine tap holders sized for 3/4-inch shank taps.
Threading operations should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with hand and machine tapping procedures. Always secure the workpiece before tapping and use appropriate cutting fluid to reduce heat and extend tap life. Follow the taper-to-plug-to-bottoming sequence for blind holes. Inspect each tap for wear or chipping before use and never force a tap — back off regularly to clear chips and prevent breakage.
