The IGUS MSI-0506-08 is a plain-bore sleeve bearing machined from M250 thermoplastic, part of the IGUS M250 series designed for dry-running, self-lubricating applications. It measures 5/16 inches inside diameter, 3/8 inches outside diameter, and 1/2 inch overall length. The self-lubricating thermoplastic construction eliminates the need for external grease or oil, making it well-suited for environments where contamination from lubricants is a concern. The bearing carries an RoHS II compliance rating and is rated for a maximum pressure-velocity value of 9,800 psi, with an operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F. Licensed technicians and maintenance professionals working in light mechanical, HVAC, and industrial equipment applications install this type of bearing as a low-maintenance alternative to bronze or metal sleeve bearings.
The MSI-0506-08 is intended for use in rotating or sliding shaft assemblies where a compact, lightweight bearing is required. Typical install scenarios include small motors, linkage pivots, fan assemblies, and other mechanical components found in HVAC equipment, light industrial machinery, and trade equipment. Housing bore limits for proper press-fit installation are 0.3760 inches minimum to 0.3765 inches maximum on the outside diameter. This bearing is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit sleeve bearing for 5/16 inch shaft applications requiring a 3/8 inch OD press-fit into a housing bored to 0.3760 to 0.3765 inches. Part of the IGUS M250 series.
Installation is typically performed by mechanical technicians or maintenance professionals familiar with bearing press-fit procedures. Power down and de-energize any associated equipment fully before removing or installing bearings. Use an appropriate bearing press or arbor tool to seat the bearing evenly into the housing bore - do not hammer directly on the bearing face. Verify shaft and housing dimensions match specified tolerances before installation to avoid premature wear or bearing failure.
