The IGUS MSI-0506-06 is a thermoplastic sleeve bearing designed for low-load rotary and linear shaft applications. With a 5/16-inch inner diameter, 3/8-inch outer diameter, and 3/8-inch overall length, this compact bearing is manufactured from IGUS M250 thermoplastic material. M250 is a self-lubricating polymer grade, eliminating the need for external grease or oil in most service conditions. The bearing is rated for a temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold-environment and moderate-heat applications. Technicians in HVAC, light mechanical, and automation work install these bearings in shafts, housings, and pivot points where corrosion resistance and low friction are priorities.
This sleeve bearing fits into housings bored to a minimum of 0.3760 inches and a maximum of 0.3765 inches. It is commonly used in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, small motors, fans, damper linkages, pump assemblies, and similar mechanical systems where a compact, self-lubricating plain bearing is required. The thermoplastic construction resists moisture and many common chemicals, making it a practical choice in environments where metal bearings would corrode or require frequent lubrication maintenance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service bearing for applications requiring a 5/16-inch ID, 3/8-inch OD plain sleeve bearing with an M250 thermoplastic construction and housing bore range of 0.3760 to 0.3765 inches.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, millwrights, or mechanical service professionals. Power down and de-energize all associated equipment before removing or installing any bearing. Press the bearing into the housing bore using a properly sized arbor or press tool - do not hammer directly on the bearing face, as this can deform the thermoplastic material. Verify shaft and housing dimensions against the specified tolerances before installation to ensure correct fit and avoid premature wear.
