The IGUS MFI-0810-08 is a flanged sleeve bearing designed for rotating and sliding shaft applications in light-to-medium duty machinery. Machined from IGUS M250 thermoplastic, this bearing operates without external lubrication, relying on the material's self-lubricating properties to reduce wear and friction. It carries a maximum pressure-velocity rating of 9800 psi, making it suitable for applications with moderate load and speed combinations. The 1/2 inch bore, 5/8 inch outside diameter, and 1/2 inch overall length make it a compact solution for confined mounting envelopes. The flanged design simplifies axial retention during installation. Maintenance technicians, machine builders, and OEM assembly teams are the typical installers.
This bearing suits residential and light commercial mechanical assemblies where corrosion resistance, low noise, and elimination of re-lubrication intervals are priorities. Typical applications include fan shaft support, conveyor guide assemblies, material handling equipment, and automation components. The RoHS II compliant M250 thermoplastic construction performs across a wide temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F, supporting installations in both cold storage and warm mechanical environments. Housing bore limits of 0.6250 to 0.6260 inches define the required bore tolerance for proper press fit or slip fit installation.
Designed for use in applications requiring a flanged sleeve bearing with a 1/2 inch bore and housing bore limits of 0.6250 to 0.6260 inches; part of the IGUS M250 series for OEM and aftermarket mechanical assemblies.
Installation should be performed by qualified mechanical technicians or machine builders. De-energize and lockout the equipment before removing or installing any bearing. Press the bearing into the housing bore using a proper bore driver or arbor press to avoid cocking or deforming the flange. Do not apply grease or oil to the bore surface, as the M250 material is self-lubricating and added lubricants can attract contaminants and reduce bearing life.
