The IGUS GSI-0809-04 is a thermoplastic sleeve bearing designed for light- to medium-duty shaft support applications across industrial and mechanical systems. Part of the IGUS G300 series, it features a plain bore configuration with self-lubricating properties, eliminating the need for external grease or oil during normal operation. The inside diameter measures 0.5 inches, the outside diameter is 19/32 inches, and the overall length is 0.25 inches. With a maximum pressure-velocity rating of 28,600 psi-ft/min, this bearing handles demanding load and speed conditions without added lubrication maintenance. Installed by maintenance technicians and mechanical assemblers, it fits into standard housing bores and supports rotating or sliding shafts.
This bearing is suited for residential and commercial equipment assemblies where corrosion resistance, low friction, and reduced maintenance are priorities. Typical applications include conveyor systems, fans, pumps, small motors, and general industrial machinery. Its thermoplastic G300 material grade performs across a wide temperature range, from -40 degrees F to 275 degrees F, making it appropriate for both cold-storage environments and moderately elevated operating temperatures. The self-lubricating design is especially useful in applications where re-lubrication access is limited or impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit sleeve bearing for standard housing bores between 0.5934 inches minimum and 0.5941 inches maximum, suitable for general industrial and mechanical shaft support applications.
Installation is typically performed by maintenance technicians or mechanical assemblers using standard press-fit or hand-installation methods. Always ensure the shaft and housing bore are clean and free of debris before seating the bearing. Power down all equipment and relieve any stored mechanical energy before servicing rotating components. Do not exceed the published pressure-velocity rating for the application.
