The IGUS 250-02-055 6' is a snap-open cable and hose carrier designed to guide and protect cables, hoses, and pneumatic lines in dynamic motion applications. Manufactured from Igumid G, a glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide engineered for wear resistance and dimensional stability, this carrier spans 6 feet in overall length and consists of 17 individual sections. The inside channel measures 0.98 inches wide by 0.98 inches high, providing a defined routing path that reduces cable fatigue and abrasion over repeated travel cycles. The snap-open design allows technicians to access and route conductors without fully disassembling the chain, saving time during installation and maintenance.
This cable carrier is suited for use in industrial automation, machine tool, and material handling equipment where cables and hoses must move with a driven axis. Typical applications include linear slides, robotic arm supports, gantry systems, and conveyor-mounted wiring runs. The 2.16-inch bend radius and 1.81-inch link-to-link pitch make it appropriate for moderate-speed, repetitive travel paths in both horizontal and vertical orientations. It is installed by automation technicians, machine builders, and maintenance electricians working on CNC equipment, packaging lines, and similar industrial machinery.
Designed as an OEM-style and aftermarket replacement cable carrier for industrial motion systems requiring a snap-open chain with 0.98-inch inside width and 0.98-inch inside height channel dimensions.
Cable and hose carriers are typically installed by qualified automation technicians or industrial electricians. Before routing any conductors, de-energize all circuits and depressurize any pneumatic or hydraulic lines in the machine. Secure both the fixed end and the moving end of the carrier to their respective mounting brackets before tensioning cables, and ensure cables have adequate slack at connection points to accommodate the full travel arc. Consult the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable NEC or local electrical codes for conductor fill and bend-radius requirements.
