The IDEAL WT52-B is a wing-style twist-on wire connector rated for 600 volts and designed for fast, reliable wire terminations in electrical installations. The red, flame-retardant shell provides a visual wire-gauge reference and an added layer of safety in enclosed junction boxes, panels, and conduit bodies. Compatible with wire sizes down to 2 AWG, the WT52-B handles the range of conductor combinations common in residential and light commercial wiring. The maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F makes it suitable for use near heat-producing equipment. Electricians rely on this connector for code-compliant splices without tools beyond hand tightening.
The IDEAL WT52-B is used across residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever twist-on wire connectors are specified. Typical applications include junction box splices, fixture connections, device pigtails, and panel tap connections. The wing ears allow one-handed application and added torque without a separate tool, which speeds up high-volume rough-in and trim-out work. This 500-count package is sized for contractors and service shops that run through connectors in volume on multi-unit or commercial jobs.
Designed for use with copper conductors starting at 2 AWG minimum, consistent with standard twist-on wire connector applications in branch circuit and fixture wiring. Verify the connector's wire range chart for the full range of compatible conductor combinations before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making or disturbing any wire connections. Insert conductors fully into the connector before twisting, and verify a firm mechanical connection with a gentle pull test on each conductor. Do not overtighten or use power tools to apply twist-on connectors, as this can damage the shell or compromise the connection.
