The IDEAL DSW-301-W is a dual-technology wall switch occupancy sensor that combines passive infrared (PIR) and ultrasonic detection to control lighting loads in commercial and light-commercial spaces. It operates at 120, 240, or 277 volts AC at 50/60 Hz and supports ballast, LED, and tungsten load types up to 1,000 watts at 120V or 1,200 watts at 240/277V. The sensor mounts in a standard decorator-style wall box and connects via 8-inch flying leads. Licensed electricians install this device as part of an energy code-compliant lighting control system.
This sensor is rated for small and executive offices, small and medium conference rooms, small classrooms, and lunch and break rooms. The PIR coverage reaches 35 inches x 30 feet for major motion and 20 feet x 15 feet for minor motion. Ultrasonic coverage spans 20 feet x 20 feet for major motion and 15 feet x 15 feet for minor motion. The combination of both technologies reduces false-off events in spaces where occupants may be seated and moving minimally, such as during desk work or presentations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wall switch occupancy sensor for decorator-style single-gang wall boxes. Compatible with ballast, LED, and tungsten load types at 120, 240, and 277 volts AC.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage with a meter before wiring. The sensor connects via 8-inch flying leads and requires a decorator wall plate, which is not included. Do not exceed the rated load wattage for the connected voltage.
