The HUBBELL WIRING DEVICE-KELLEMS HBL2521 is an industrial-grade locking plug rated for 20 amps at 277/480 volts in a 4-pole, 5-wire L22-20P configuration. Built from impact-resistant nylon with a self-grounding design, this plug is engineered for demanding three-phase power connections in commercial and industrial environments. It accepts cord diameters from 0.35 inches to 1.15 inches, providing compatibility with a wide range of heavy-duty flexible cordsets. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers for this type of connector.
This locking plug is suited for industrial facilities, manufacturing floors, data centers, and commercial construction sites where three-phase 277/480-volt power distribution is required. The L22-20P configuration is a standard NEMA locking pattern used in high-voltage branch circuit applications. Its IP20 ingress protection rating makes it appropriate for indoor dry-location installations where accidental finger contact with live parts must be prevented.
Designed for use with L22-20R locking receptacles and inlets in industrial 277/480-volt three-phase wiring systems. Compatible with 4-pole, 5-wire flexible cordsets within the supported cord diameter range of 0.35 inches to 1.15 inches.
Installation must be performed by a qualified licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Verify cord grip engagement is secure for the cord diameter in use before returning the circuit to service. The IP20 rating limits this plug to indoor, dry-location installations only.
