The HUBBELL WIRING DEVICE-KELLEMS HBL13R89 is a 3-pole, non-fused enclosed switch disconnect rated at 30 amps and 600 volts AC. It is housed in a NEMA 3R aluminum enclosure, making it suitable for outdoor and rain-protected installations. The unit carries a 3PST contact form and is designed for de-energizing equipment circuits in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of disconnect as a local means of shutoff required by the NEC at motor-driven and HVAC equipment. The enclosure depth measures 2.75 inches. This disconnect is UL 508 listed and CSA certified, confirming it meets recognized industrial control standards.
The HBL13R89 is applied in single-phase and three-phase electrical systems where a lockable, weatherproof disconnect is required adjacent to rooftop HVAC units, condensing units, air handlers, or other motor-driven equipment. Its horsepower ratings cover a wide range of loads: 3 HP at 120 volts AC single-phase, 7.5 HP at 240 volts AC three-phase, 15 HP at 480 volts AC three-phase, and 20 HP at 600 volts AC three-phase. The NEMA 3R rating protects internal components from falling rain, sleet, and external ice formation, which is a common requirement for rooftop and outdoor pad-mount equipment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation disconnect for enclosed non-fused switch applications in NEMA 3R-rated electrical systems requiring a 3-pole, 30A, 600V AC disconnect.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the upstream overcurrent protective device and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any wiring connections. The NEMA 3R enclosure must be mounted in the correct orientation to maintain its rain-protection rating. Do not exceed the voltage, amperage, or horsepower ratings marked on the device.
