The HUBBELL-RACO 670RAC is a single-gang steel electrical device box designed for standard residential and light commercial wiring installations. Constructed from pre-galvanized steel with a gray finish, this rectangular box measures 4 inches in height, 2.125 inches in width, and 2.188 inches in depth. It ships with 11 half-inch knockouts, giving electricians flexible conduit and cable entry options without modification. The pre-galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suitable for typical interior wall installations. Plaster ears are integrated into the design to support flush mounting in finished wall surfaces, simplifying rough-in and trim-out work for licensed electricians.
This device box suits single-gang wiring device installations in residential and light commercial construction, including outlets, switches, and dimmers. The rectangular form factor and standard single-gang configuration align with common rough-in framing layouts. The plaster ear mount type makes it particularly practical for installations in drywall or plaster wall assemblies where flush seating of the device is required. It is a non-weather-resistant enclosure intended for dry or protected interior locations only.
Designed as an OEM-style single-gang device box replacement suitable for standard residential and light commercial electrical rough-in applications using half-inch conduit or cable knockouts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for outlet and switch box placement and fill calculations. De-energize the circuit at the panel before beginning any wiring work. Verify that the non-weather-resistant rating is appropriate for the installation environment before use. Secure the box firmly to framing or support structure before pulling conductors to prevent movement during device termination.
