The HUBBELL-RACO 3421 is a 90-degree liquid-tight conduit connector designed for securing flexible liquid-tight conduit to electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and equipment knockouts. Built with a threaded connection and a non-insulated body, the 3421 provides a reliable mechanical connection at the point where conduit meets an enclosure. At a 3/8 inch trade size, this connector suits smaller-diameter liquid-tight flexible conduit runs common in commercial and industrial wiring applications. Electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting where conduit must change direction at 90 degrees while maintaining a moisture-resistant termination point.
This connector is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations wherever liquid-tight flexible conduit is routed to motors, HVAC equipment, panels, or control enclosures. The 90-degree angle simplifies routing in tight spaces where a straight connector would create excessive conduit bend stress. The 3/8 inch trade size is commonly specified for low-voltage control wiring and small motor connections. The non-insulated design is standard for general conduit termination where an insulated throat is not required by the installation or local code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 3/8 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible conduit systems in standard electrical enclosure applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before making any conduit or enclosure connections. Hand-tighten the connector to the enclosure knockout before applying a strap wrench or conduit fitting tool to achieve a secure, rattle-free connection. Do not over-tighten, as this may damage the connector body or enclosure knockout threads.
