The HUBBELL-RACO 1203 is a steel conduit locknut designed to secure rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) connections at enclosures, junction boxes, and panel knockouts. At a 3/4 inch trade size, this non-insulated, threaded locknut clamps the conduit fitting firmly against the box wall to maintain a solid mechanical and electrical bond. It is a standard component in commercial and residential electrical installations where conduit integrity and grounding continuity are required by code. Electricians reach for locknuts like the 1203 on every conduit termination to keep fittings locked in place and prevent rotation or pull-out over time.
The 1203 fits 3/4 inch trade size rigid and IMC conduit fittings. It is used in standard conduit rough-in work across residential, commercial, and light industrial applications, including panel terminations, junction box entries, and equipment enclosures. The threaded design engages the conduit threads directly and is tightened against the enclosure wall to complete the mechanical connection. This locknut is suited for dry and damp locations where a non-insulated fitting meets code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement locknut for 3/4 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) threaded fittings at standard electrical enclosures and junction boxes.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for conduit terminations. De-energize the circuit and verify power is off before working at any enclosure or panel. Thread the locknut onto the conduit fitting, insert through the knockout, and tighten firmly against the interior wall of the enclosure using a locknut wrench or flathead screwdriver and hammer to seat the teeth. Ensure the fitting is mechanically secure and that grounding continuity is maintained through the conduit system per applicable code.
